Since its 1998 self-titled debut, Eve 6 has carried the burden of being slightly ahead of its peers. It boasts smart and clever lyrics, charging guitars, and astute musicianship. Perhaps this is why Eve 6 hasn't garnered the number of top singles it should have achieved by now. In sticking with its formula, Eve 6 has filled its latest album, It's All in Your Head, with catchy songs -- musically and lyrically. The first single, "Think Twice," is a musically fun romp trickling antagonistic lyrics. The best song on the album, "At Least We're Dreaming," is relentlessly hook-laden and will capture the minds of the most cynical music fans. It's All in Your Head shows more emotion than past albums, offering a variety of moods, including the Suicidal Tendencies-turned-pop angry flavor of "Still Here Waiting" along with melancholy ("Hey Montana") and sadness ("Without You Here"). However, It's All in Your Head doesn't have the punch that Eve 6's previous albums possessed. There are standout tracks but, although well done, they slip out of mind when the album ends. Nevertheless, it's a welcome offering. Once again, Eve 6 will probably find it difficult to connect with fickle music fans used to punk-pop and rap-rock. But that doesn't mean that it's an album not worth picking up.

Lyrics At Least We’re Dreaming – Eve 6
When do we get to the part where I can go home, Been hiding inside the jungle gym for way too long Waitin' for someone to come along and find me Live in an apartment that bums me out It don't get better when the lights go out Waitin' for someone to come along and find me Swimin' through the isles at the grocery store I don't even know what I'm lookin for Waitin' for someone to come along and find me At least I'm breathin' At least I'm alive As long as I'm dreamin' Everything's gonna be alright To the corner to call collect Your mother wants to know are you happy yet Waitin' for someone to come along and find you Goin' out at night lookin' for distractions Sleepin' through the day there's no redemption Waitin' for someone to come along and find you At least you're breathin' At least you're alive As long as you're dreamin' Everything's gonna be alright I'm alright, I tell myself twice In the mirror before I cant go to sleep at night I need a lullaby I need some time I need to get a dime bag from my guy [x2] At least we're breathin At least we're alive As long as we're dreamin' Everything's gonna be alright I'm alright, I tell myself twice In the mirror before I cant go to sleep at night I need a lullaby I need some time I need to get a dime bag from my guy [x2]
Eve 6 is an American alternative rock group that formed in Southern California in 1995. For most of the band's life it was comprised of Max Collins, Tony Fagenson, and Jon Siebels. For nearly all of their songs, Collins writes lyrics, sings, and plays bass, Fagenson plays drums, and Siebels plays guitar.
I first heard Eve 6 from the song Inside Out played by a friend of mine, and while I thought the song was quite catchy, my attitude was biased against all pop music at the time. I later heard them again when another friend of mine was listening to Horrorscope, which I also liked. I still didn't seek them out until years later when I downloaded their music on Kazaa and really started to like them. Their powerful sound and playful lyrics caused them to rapidly became one of my favorite bands. It was only then that I found out they had recently broken up 2004. I still bought their first three albums and really enjoyed each of them. When I heard about the formation of The Sugi Tap on MySpace, I started getting excited for a possible tour, and was thrilled when they re-formed as Eve 6 to begin touring again.
What identifies a nation is its poets. Yet, as with any great poet, Andersen became an international figure. I have read several biographies of his life and times, including his own novel "The Fairy Tale of My Life". What is curious is that throughout his life, Andersen was composing his own biography, creating a perfect fairy-tale of his life, often rather different from its tragic and, at times, cruel reality. His real self can be glimpsed through his tales: he IS the Little Mermaid who outgrows her surroundings and is misunderstood by those around, he IS a steadfast soldier who keeps his courage and doesn't give up, he IS a poor, dreaming girl with a box of matches, capable of a wondrous imagination that lulls her into the forever blissful sleep of death, away from cold and hunger.
I'm writing about Dylan's classic voice, the voice on Freewheelin' through Blonde on Blonde, the voice that made Hibbing famous. It's fair to note that it was Dylan's lyrics that captured the age. But those arresting words would not have had same impact they had if Dylan had not sung them the way he did. I always thought he sang his songs better than all the covers.
World, I will prove you. Lest it should be saidThere was man who loved the earth: his heartWas nothing but that love. With doing treadHe worshipt the loved grass: and every startOf every bird from cover, the least partOf every flower he held in awe. Yet earthGave him no joy between his death and birth.
Then, where he saw a little water runBeneath a bush, he slept. The chills of MayCame dropping and the stars peered one by oneOut of the deepening blue, while far awayThe western brightness dulled to bars of grey.Half-way to midnight, suddenly, from dreamingHe woke wide into present horror, screaming. 2ff7e9595c
